Passionate about equipping non-profit leaders, Jon Close is a seasoned non-profit leader, keynote speaker, coach and trainer. He is cofounder and active partner of the UpCloseTeam. Jon Close has coached, trained, and mentored small business and not-for-profit leaders across Canada for over 30 years. Angela Folino
Angela Folino's primary focus is business litigation, and has represented a variety of clients ranging from large national corporations to small, privately-held corporations and individuals. Angela works closely with her clients to resolve their disputes in a timely, efficient manner. Angela's experience includes general commercial and civil litigation, including contract disputes and negligence claims in the areas of aviation, pharmacy and PharmaCare, construction and builders' liens, employment and real property, among others. Angela has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia.
Jeremy Pico
Jeremy is PRA Group's Internal Audit practice leader and works with numerous clients on a multitude of internal audit related engagements across Canada. With over a decade of service at the firm, Jeremy ensures that PRA Group maintains a high standard of professionalism, abiding by the Institute of Internal Audit Standards. Andy Poprawa
As a former regulator with 35 years' experience, in senior regulatory, governance, financial, risk management and leadership roles, Andy served as President and CEO of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario, and as a senior regulator with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. He is also a co-founder and long time chair of the International Credit Union Regulators Network. Andy currently serves on a number of boards, works with credit unions, and provides strategic advice to regulators around the world.

Kelly Samuels
Kelly Samuels has a general business law practice, providing advice to clients on transactional and business activities. She advises clients on the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, financing arrangements, corporate reorganizations, property leases, securities, employment and privacy-related issues, and purchase and sale transactions. Kelly advises credit unions in all aspects of their businesses, including regulatory compliance and privacy matters. Jannine Scheurmann
Jannine Scheurmann is the Chief Financial & Risk Officer of North Peace Savings & Credit union. Over a career spanning more than 28 years, Jannine has extensive experience within the BC credit union system. She has held the positions of Vice President, Risk for First West Credit Union, and Vice President, Risk & Compliance and Senior Manager, Controller at Island Savings Credit Union. Jannine was also a Senior Manager, Audit at Grant Thornton LLP, responsible for several credit union audits on Vancouver Island. Jannine has worked extensively with Boards and executive management teams.
Randy Tanaka
Randy Tanaka’s Level Five Strategic Partners Inc. is a consulting company formed in 2002 from various discretionary services no longer offered by Credit Union Central of Ontario. Level Five offers various consulting services to Canadian credit unions, including director and board training, self-assessments, strategic planning, mergers, sustainability planning, and asset and liability management services. Randy has more than 35 years of credit union experience. He has an Honours B.A. in Economics, and is a graduate of the both the Canadian Securities Course and the Leadership Foundations Program.
Fred Zdan
Fred leads the Risk Advisory Services practice at PRA Group. With more than 25 years of financial institutions experience in audit, finance, governance and risk management, Fred works with clients across Canada to find workable, relevant solutions to risk management issues. Fred delivers ERM Services to a number of financial institution clients as well as provides advisory services in board governance, finance, and regulatory matters. Fred holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada.
